Air Force ROTC

Welcome

airforce

The Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP works together with the University of Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP, Fayetteville and the Air Force to provide leadership training in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). The program's primary objective is to commission officers to lead airmen in the United States Air Force. AFROTC consists of structured courses of aerospace studies, leadership training, special activities and summer field training.

Three and four-year programs are offered. Students can qualify to earn AFROTC scholarships, which can provide up to 100 percent of tuition and most fees as well as money for books and living expenses. Any qualified UAFS student can start the AFROTC program with no obligation to serve in the military. Upon program completion and college graduation, cadets are awarded the rank of second lieutenant and serve in the active-duty Air Force.

  • The three- and four-year programs begin during freshman or sophomore year and require completion of a three-week field training course called Leadership, Evaluation, Assessment, and Development (LEAD) after sophomore year.
  • Occasionally the Air Force offers two-year programs to students not enrolled in ROTC during their first two years of college. If offered, the cadre at Det 030 will discuss specific program details.
