Lion Voices: Braden Boyer
Today's feature is senior finance major and member of the UAFS Lions Men’s Basketball team,
J. Braden Boyer - who you can catch on the floor in the Stubblefield Center TONIGHT
at 7:30 p.m.!
Originally from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Braden came to UAFS on an athletic scholarship
2018, and has made his way as a Lion both on and off the court.
From numerous games to late nights of practice, Braden, a forward on the court, has
been striving for greatness in athletics, academics, and social involvement.
This semester, he even landed a nod as Gamma Phi Beta’s Moon Man. “I became friends
with a lot of the girls from Gamma Phi Beta and enjoyed being able to get to know
them,” he said, “I must have made a good impression because they voted me to be their
Moon Man!”
When Braden isn’t shooting hoops, spending time with his friends, or visiting his
family in Oklahoma, he enjoys playing video games and detailing vehicles.
Like many students, Braden changed his major midway through his college career, considering
both engineering and medicine and finally landing on finance. Though he joked that
he chose finance because he loves money, Braden believes his finance degree will help
him build and maintain financial stability for himself and others.
Once Braden graduates in the Spring of 2022, he hopes to use his degree to find a
well-paying job in the Tulsa or Northwest 㽶ƵAPP areas.
“It’s all about the journey, not the destination,” he shared. “It’s all about the
people you meet and the memories you make”
“But take care of your business!” Braden said. “Nothing lasts forever, whether you
go for it or you don't. Everything will be okay in the end.”
We are so proud of our multitalented students like Braden, who continue to strive
to better their futures. Stay warm, start studying for those finals, and GO LIONS!
