The University of 㽶ƵAPP – Fort Smith will feature its annual exhibit from Sept. 2-12 in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center commemorating the Sept. 11 attacks.
The exhibit documents the attacks, emergency response and recovery efforts of the attacks, as well as the eventual rebuilding of the World Trade Center.
Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the exhibit complements The Unexpected, the arts initiative in downtown Fort Smith coordinated by 64.6 Downtown.
“Local residents or tourists who are coming to Fort Smith to view the artwork of The Unexpected should stop by campus and view this exhibit,” Jones said. “This is one of the only exhibits of its kind in the nation, featuring some of the most profound photographs taken during that unforgettable day.”
The exhibit will be located near the fireplace in the Campus Center, located at 5210 Grand Ave., and hours are from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Fridays. For more information about the exhibit, contact the Campus and Community Events Office at 479-788-7300.
