Theatre @ UAFS will perform "CORRIGENDA" during the festival.

For the second consecutive year, the University of Ď㽶ĘÓƵAPP – Fort Smith will host the state’s Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival on its campus Oct. 27-30, featuring five colleges and universities competing for a slew of awards.

UAFS, University of the Ozarks, Pulaski Technical College, Rich Mountain Community College and Eastern Oklahoma State College will each perform a production at the festival. All performances will take place in the Breedlove Auditorium, located at 5210 Grand Ave.

Theatre @ UAFS will perform “CORRIGENDA” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27, followed by RMCC’s performance of “Nina Variations” at noon Oct. 28 and “Eh?” performed by EOSC at 8 p.m. Oct. 28.

On Oct. 29, University of the Ozarks will put on “True West” at noon before Pulaski Tech’s “At Home at the Zoo” at 8 p.m.

Bob Stevenson, department head of communications and associate professor of theatre arts, said the festival is a great development opportunity for students.

“Last year’s festival was a smashing success, and one of the shows in the festival last year, University of the Ozark’s “Bug,” was selected to be part of the regional festival,” Stevenson said. “This festival is a wonderful opportunity for us our students to spend a week watching, talking and learning about theatre with the other faculty and students from the two-state area.”

Admission to the performances are free and open to the public. For more information about the festival, contact Stevenson at 479-788-7303 or bob.stevenson@uafs.edu.
