The University of 㽶ƵAPP – Fort Smith has hired a new director to oversee its Boreham Library.

Anne Liebst, formerly the discovery and access coordinator for the Ottenheimer Library at the University of 㽶ƵAPP at Little Rock, has been named the new director of library services at UAFS. Her start date was March 13.

As director, Liebst will oversee the planning, implementing, directing and evaluating of all services provided by the library. Additionally, she will develop, manage and maintain the library’s print and non-print collections supporting the academic and research programs of the university, develop policies, procedures and evaluation strategies for building and managing collections, while strategically analyzing the needs of the student body.

In her previous role, Liebst provided vision and leadership for discovery and access to library and archive materials, assisted in developing and maintaining vision, strategy, policies and standards, and collaborated with colleagues at UALR to ensure a responsive, leading-edge digital library program.

She said she was excited to assume the role.

“I believe that all academic libraries are at the heart of the university’s campus, and I am excited to start my position as director of library services at UAFS,” Liebst said.

Liebst earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in library and information management from Emporia State University.

Liebst replaces Bob Frizzell, who retired from UAFS Dec. 31.
