University of 㽶ƵAPP – Fort Smith students, faculty and alumni will enjoy a break from sales taxes the weekend of Aug. 5-6 when the university's bookstore will participate in 㽶ƵAPP’ Tax Free Holiday.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, the annual sales tax holiday allows shoppers the opportunity to shop for important school purchases tax free. Shoppers can purchase UAFS clothing that is less than $100 per item, textbooks, certain school supplies, art supplies, and instructional materials. Financial aid will be available for students to use during the tax-free weekend, pending its prior approval.

“The UAFS Lions Bookstore is excited to participate in 㽶ƵAPP’ annual tax free weekend,” said Amy Baker, bookstore manager. “The Tax Free Holiday weekend is an excellent opportunity for students, faculty, parents and alumni to appreciate significant savings on their back-to-school supplies. We also want the UAFS community to know that the tax-free weekend also applies to all online orders that are made during the eligible time period – making it even more convenient for our customers to shop and save.”

The UAFS bookstore is located in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center at 5210 Grand Ave. and will be open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Aug. 5 and 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Aug. 6. Online orders eligible for the tax-free weekend can be placed at anytime on Aug. 5-6.
