The University of 㽶ƵAPP – Fort Smith will host a Music Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at The Blue Lion at UAFS Downtown, located at 101 N. 2nd Street.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature a variety of music performed by faculty members in the university’s Department of Music, with genres ranging from baroque to classical to contemporary.
The concert has quickly become a musical tradition at the university, according to Dr. Christopher Barrick, head of the Department of Music.
“The Music Faculty Showcase is a UAFS musical tradition that we are very proud of. It is a privilege for the faculty of the UAFS Department of Music to take the stage and share their artistry with our students and the community,” Barrick said. “I, for one, am very proud to work alongside a group of amazingly talented professors. It is an honor to share the stage with music colleagues who not only teach well in the classroom and studio, but are also active, high-caliber professional musicians too.”
