Martina McBride, the best-selling and Grammy Award-nominated country music artist, will ring in the holidays in Fort Smith with a 7:30 p.m. concert Nov. 26 as part of the University of Ď㽶ĘÓƵAPP – Fort Smith’s Season of Entertainment 37.

The concert, titled “The Joy of Christmas,” will take place at the First National Bank Exhibit Hall in the Fort Smith Convention Center, located at 55 S. 7th Street. Tickets are $40 to $50 based on seating tier. VIP tickets are also available, ranging from $119 to $219.

A 14-time Grammy Award nominee, McBride has been a mainstay in the country music scene for more than two decades, recording 13 studio albums – most notably “Reckless,” “Martina” and “Shine” – and selling more than 14 million albums. At the Nov. 26 concert, she will perform a concert of holiday music featuring new and endearing holiday tunes.

Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the university was “ecstatic” to bring McBride to Fort Smith.

“We’re ecstatic to be part of her national tour in conjunction with release of her new Christmas album,” Jones said. “This is the first time in a long time that she’s been in this area, and it will be great family entertainment by one of the top country vocalists in the country.”

“The Joy of Christmas is a magical show full of beautiful scenery and classic beloved Christmas music, as well as a few hits from my career,” McBride said in a news release announcing the tour. “It’s a show for the whole family. With this tour, we create a sort of Christmas winter wonderland. If this show doesn’t leave you full of the Christmas spirit, I’m not sure what will.”

The concert is part of Season of Entertainment 37, a yearlong lineup of entertainment sponsored by the Ď㽶ĘÓƵAPP featuring a variety of plays, musicals and symphonic performances.
