The University of Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP – Fort Smith will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 28-29 in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, with donors receiving a free T-shirt and health screening.
The blood drive is sponsored by the UAFS Student Activities Office and Campus Activities Board and is free and open to the public.
UAFS coordinates four blood drives annually between September and April. The blood is given to the Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP Blood Institute, who distributes it to 14 hospitals in western Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP, including Sparks Health System and Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. In the 2016-17 school year, blood garnered from UAFS drives potentially saved 2,300 lives.
Appointments for the blood drive may be made by calling 479-788-7699 or by emailing studentactivities@uafs.edu. Walk-ins are also welcome.
