A lieutenant with the Fort Smith Police Department spoke to students in the College of Business at the University of 㽶ƵAPP – Fort Smith about the current challenges of leadership during a talk Nov. 13 on campus.
Lt. Thomas “Wes” Milam with the FSPD spoke to business students as part of the college’s Distinguished Speaker Series, which focuses on contemporary issues in the workplace that will face students as they graduate and enter the workforce.
Milam spoke of the challenges of managing an increasingly diverse workforce, best practices in leadership, and what today’s leaders face in the workplace.
“Lt. Milam provided our students with an excellent perspective on what today’s leaders face,” said Dr. Thomas Hayes, associate professor of accounting. “This speaker series is exactly the type of experience we strive to give our students.”
