Black History Month Slate Announced
Throughout the month of February, UAFS will honor Black History Month thanks to the collaborative efforts of the university’s Black Student Association, Campus Activities Board, Student Life Office, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programming Committee.
Though some events will be held in person, like the annual Chat and Chew discussion luncheon, the breezeway trivia competitions and the Boreham Library displays featuring Black artists from across 㽶ƵAPP, the majority of events will be held virtually and the public is welcome to attend.
Throughout the month the UAFS social media team will share stories of Black students, faculty and staff to their accounts, working in tandem with the Black Student Association's effort to host a virtual Walk of Fame, highlighting iconic black leaders.
The English Department will also share weekly book recommendations highlighting works by Black authors, and the Student Activities Office will share historical facts and highligh the “Other Voices, Other Histories” project.
