Professional editing for the web and written digital content creation is a rapidly growing field. This 9-credit-hour program provides focused skills in content creation and curation in audio, digital, and written forms. The specific content area knowledge will prepare students for jobs in editing, content creation, publishing, and writing and will offer a competitive edge for students wishing to go into technical writing, editing, freelance writing, social media content creation, and other related fields.

 

Program Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the Certificate of Proficiency in content creation, editing, and publishing will be able to:

  • create and prepare documents and projects for specific venues/publication opportunities, including copy editing using standard proofreading/editing symbols and various style guides.
  • produce focused, well-organized, developed, and edited web-based documents.
