Lucille Speakman Excellence Awards for Staff

The Lucille Spearman Excellence Awards recognize the contributions made to the University of Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP - Fort Smith by eligible staff members in two categories.

The recipients in each category are selected by a sub-committee of the University Staff Council and awarded a $2,500 monetary award.

There are categories for both non-classified (Category II) and classified (Category III) staff. Nominees must wait at least five years to be eligible if they have previously won the award.

FAQs

Any full-time, non-teaching  staff member who has:

  • been employed by UAFS for at least three years.  

  • Category II is for non-classified, full-time, non-teaching staff employed by UAFS for at least three years who are not vice-chancellors or deans.
  • Category III is for classified, full-time, non-teaching staff employed by UAFS for at least three years. 

Nominations must be received by January 13.

Any full-time UAFS employee, such as faculty, deans administrators, advisors, and staff, can nominate a full-time faculty member for this award

Candidates will be notified of their nomination and must indicate whether they accept or decline the nomination. 

The final selection will be based upon the criteria listed above.
